The minimum charge is one days charge, which is 24 hours from collection until it is returned. For Example if you collect at 11am the vehicle should be back by 11am the following day for a days charge. We also charge an excess mileage charge over 250 miles @12p plus vat. 

Rentals can easily be paid by credit or debit card. We are happy to put account facilities in place, please ask for details. We do not accept cash only transactions or American Express.

  1. Driving Licence. ( Card or Old style paper licence.)
  2. National Insurance Number.
  3. Recent proof of address i.e. utility bill or bank statement within the last 2 months.

Yes. Tollgate Hire vehicles can be returned 24/7. This is especially convenient on a weekend saving you time out of the working week to return a vehicle. 

Tollgate Hire can arrange Fully Comprehensive Insurance. (Subject to our insurers terms and conditions.)

Alternately you can elect to insure fully comprehensively - please ask a member of staff for the vehicle deatils to proceed.

Yes. Tollgate Hire has asecure  customer car park that can be accessed whilst we are open for business, Please ask for details.

Yes, providing that the extra driver meets our rental criteria and completes the necesary forms we can add another driver for £10 per hire.

All Tollgate Hire rental vehicles are covered with 24hour roadside assistance. The emergency number can be easily found within the vehicle should you need it.


Yes. However, the local authorities usually ask for a copy of the rental agreement and a utility bill to prove that you live in the district of the amenity site.

Major credit cards are accepted but However American Express and Dinners Card is not accepted.

Corporate account can be easily arranged (subject to status)

The minimum age for vans is 21, cars 25, people carriers and buses 30.
